The Wey Coffee 01 is already set to arrive in Spain in 2023

This Chinese model will begin its landing in Europe before the end of 2022, but it won’t reach Spain until 2023, with a remarkable range.

Wey Coffee Hibrido Plug In Europa (5)

It’s been some time since we received the news that the Wey Coffee 01 was about to arrive in Europe to begin sales on the continent. Within a few weeks it will begin selling in Belgium, the United Kingdom and Germany. These will be the first countries to welcome the model from the brand belonging to the Great Wall Motor Company group, but it is expected that over the coming months it will reach other European markets. And yes, Spain is among them, so we will soon have good news on this front.

This plug-in hybrid SUV sits in the upper segment, although it is expected to have a restrained price. At least, considering all the features it offers. Above all, it’s worth highlighting the high capacity of its battery. This will allow it to cover a maximum of 146 kilometres on a single charge, measured under the WLTP cycle.

A five-seat SUV with a remarkable range

Aesthetically, it is a large, five-seat SUV. Elegant and with a powerful look, it will be sold in two trim levels. The first is the Premium. This will feature Full LED headlights, and the cabin will include a Head-Up Display, leather-upholstered and heated seats, a 360º camera and several ADAS systems that will assist the driver during journeys.

The Luxury trim adds to all that equipment Alcantara upholstery, but also other technological elements such as biometric identification, heated rear seats, a double panoramic roof, air quality control, and the Head-Up Display adds augmented reality, among other things.

Engine and battery

As for the plug-in hybrid engine, it consists of one combustion engine and two electric motors, one on each axle. The first is a 2.0-litre turbocharged unit, which delivers a maximum output of 204 CV. The front electric motor has an equivalent output of 163 CV, while the rear one delivers 184 CV. Combined, the vehicle produces 476 CV.

The battery is large. Its capacity is 39.7 kWh, so the 146-kilometre range is justified by it. It can be charged with an alternating current cable of 11 kW, although if a direct current charger is used it accepts a power of up to 50 kW.

Its 0 to 100 km/h acceleration is put at 5 seconds and it offers a top speed of 235 km/h.

Prices in Europe

Although prices in Spain are still unclear, we know that the Wey Coffee 01 in Premium trim will cost 55,900 euros, while the Luxury trim will reach 59,900 euros. It is known that in Spain there will initially be only two dealerships, one located in Madrid and the other in Barcelona.
