The world's fastest lawn mower: will it exceed 240 km/h?
Honda launches the second version of its Mean Mower, a lawn mower with a higher top speed than most cars on the market. It can also mow the lawn at your house.
The Mean Mower V2 is a lawn mower made by Honda that defies the laws of logic. The Japanese manufacturer intends to exceed 240 km/h with this lawn mower which, in case you’re wondering, is also perfectly equipped to leave your garden looking like Buckingham Palace. Although it may seem like an invention from a science fiction movie, Honda has been developing this model for several years. In fact, in 2014 it launched a first version of the Mean Mower that already reached 187 km/h. Now, Honda’s lawn mower arrives in a more powerful version to once again become the world’s fastest lawn mower.

Engine of the Honda CBR Fireblade SP: 190 CV
The new Mean Mower V2 features the same four-cylinder engine with 999 cubic centimetres as the Honda CBR Fireblade SP, the sportiest motorcycle from the Japanese manufacturer. With this powerplant, the revamped lawn mower produces 190 CV of power at 13,000 rpm, almost double what the previous version offered. The engineers at Honda predict that the new Mean Mower can reach 145 km/h in first gear, which is almost nothing…

Performance of this calibre requires a braking system and tyres to match. The Mean Mower V2 features ventilated four-piston brake calipers on the front wheel and six-piston calipers on the rear. In addition, it offers special competition tyres to transmit all the power to the ground and lose as little traction as possible.

Components shared with the Honda Fireblade

The Mean Mower shares many components with the Fireblade, such as the six-speed gearbox, the colour LCD screen, the engine control unit and the clutch.
Perfectly equipped to mow the lawn at your house
In addition, the Mean Mower has the same front fairing, blades and grass collection box as the Honda F 1511, the standard version of this lawn mower. That is, if you want it to mow your garden, it will do so without any problems.

We still don’t know when it will attempt to break the maximum speed record with its lawn mower Honda, but we do know that at the controls will be Jess Hawkins, an experienced go-kart driver who took part in the Fast & Furious Live Show as a stunt driver.

Below you can see the record set by the previous version of the Mean Mower:
