Even during the summer months, the automotive industry does not slow down. The European Commission continues to issue its recall notices. This July is very important, as some models have significant defects that may affect units sold in Spain.

Quite a few models have a recall this month, but don’t worry, not all production is affected, only certain chassis. Read carefully! These are the recall notices for July.

Opel Grandland X

Opel Grandland Hybrid 2022 (1)

This recall may affect units manufactured between 1/10/2019 and 16/03/2020. The recovery code is 20-N-126, and the fault occurs because, under certain conditions, the urea injector can become blocked while the engine is switched off. The blockage is temporary, and the injector works again after 12 minutes. This may cause the vehicle to register higher NOx emissions.

Hyundai Kona e Ioniq electric

Hyundai Kona Ev Neumaticos

It may affect units manufactured between 4/05/2018 and 2/03/2020. The recovery code is 11EVTEMP – 11D043, and an internal short circuit may occur in the battery.

Tesla Model 3 and Model Y

Teaser Tesla Model 2

The affected vehicles were manufactured between 16/12/2018 and 17/01/2021. The recovery code is SB-21-33-002, and the elements that secure the brake calipers may not have the required tightening torque. This means the tyres may lose pressure and the movement of the wheels may be more restricted.

Likewise, units produced between 6/07/2018 and 21/03/2020 carry the fault code SB-21-20-001, which involves a defect in the seat belt mountings.

Fiat Dobló

Fiat Doblò MY 2022 Trekking

These models were manufactured between 6/06/2020 and 28/12/2020. The fault is 6325 and involves a defect in the ABS control unit.

Units that may be affected by this recall were manufactured between 21/01/2020 and 10/03/2020. The recovery code is HPP, and the fault is that the vent hole of the passenger side airbag is too small, so if the airbag deploys it may do so insufficiently.

In addition, the rear suspension arm bolts have a defective heat treatment, and the nuts on the anti-roll bar bearings may break due to excessive tightening torque.

Porsche Cayenne

Porsche Cayenne Coupe 5

The affected units were produced between 28/09/2020 and 7/12/2020. The fault is AMB1, and it involves the engine block potentially breaking. Likewise, units manufactured between 16/09 and 31/10/2020 may carry the code AMA9, which involves corrosion cracking that may cause play between “the axle corrosion rod and the wheel carrier”.

Mercedes-Benz GLB

Mercedes Benz Glb 180 2020 (2)

This recall affects units manufactured between 22/04/2019 and 28/06/2019. The recovery code is 9192162, and it means the curtain airbags may have a defect and would not deploy correctly if needed.
