Alfa Romeo Coches clásicos Curiosities Sports Cars
This Alfa Romeo 8C from 1939 could reach up to 25 million dollars

Although the 8C model from Alfa Romeo may remind us of the brand’s recent history, with the Alfa 8C Competizione from less than a decade ago, the truth is that this name was first used about 8 decades ago; yes, in the 1930s.
The spirit and the “cuore sportivo” have been part of the Italian brand’s identity for its entire history, and the model shown in the images is a great example of this. It not only has an elegant and meticulously crafted appearance, but was also a true speedster for its time.
The Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B was a model produced in the 1930s that used an inline eight-cylinder engine, hence the 8C designation, which curiously was not used on its eight-cylinder predecessors.
As for the unit shown in the images, there is not much specific data available. It is known that it was produced in 1939, but there is a gap in its history until ten years later, in 1949, when the Italian sports car was exported to Brazil, where it took part in some competition. A few years later, in the 1970s, the Italian sports car returned to Europe, and twenty years after that it underwent a restoration process to reach its current condition, crossing the big pond again, this time bound for the United States.

Now, on August 20th, the important automotive event held in Monterey (California), the Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, organized alongside RM Auctions’ annual auction, will feature this unit.
The price expectations for this authentic automotive jewel are out of reach for the vast majority of people. It is rumored it could fall between 20 and 25 million US dollars, that is, between 18 and 22.5 million euros at the current exchange rate. It will be one of the most expensive vehicles auctioned at this edition of RM Auctions’ annual sale.
You know, if you have a few tens of millions of euros in your piggy bank and want to invest in a work of art, this Alfa Romeo 8C 2900B could be a good idea.
