This compact SUV is about to arrive in Spain and will surprise you with its price and equipment

The year is entering its final stretch, which means the models that will be sold in 2024 are already reaching the market. One of those models is the Omoda 5, a compact SUV that comes from the multinational Chery, which has launched this new brand so we can discover what they are preparing for their arrival across Europe. And that includes Spain, where this model will also be available.

The Omoda 5 will be available with a petrol engine and in two different versions. Aesthetically, it is a compact SUV with a refined and very attractive design. At the front, the grille stands out, featuring a design of geometric shapes with a brilliant diamond-shaped finish.

The light clusters consist of the daytime running lights, located at the top and using LED technology. The main lights are below and have a vertical shape. These headlights have the distinctive feature of offering greater visibility in any weather conditions without losing any of the elegant design and image sought.

At the rear, we find very well-defined lines that offer light clusters with a very interesting design. These run from end to end of the vehicle and also feature LED technology. This makes them stand out well and highly visible on every journey.

Its dimensions make it a very interesting vehicle, with a length of 4,400 mm, a width of 1,825 mm and a height of 1,588 mm. It is compact yet allows up to five occupants to travel comfortably.

Technological and comfortable interior

Inside, you will find quality materials and a design with a very functional and attractive style. The seats can be adjusted thanks to several buttons that allow the shape and recline to be set to the user’s preference. It features two 10.25-inch LCD screens showing information and offering easy control of the infotainment system. It is equipped with several ADAS systems that improve safety while driving.

The interior space is generous: the rear bench offers room to travel comfortably, and the vehicle also offers a boot with 360 litres of capacity, which rises to 1,026 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Engine and versions

The Omoda 5 is offered with a single engine, a 1.6TGDI direct-injection unit. It delivers 185 CV of power and 290 Nm of torque. It is paired with a seven-speed automatic gearbox. The transmission offers three driving modes: Normal, Eco and Sport, so it can be adjusted to the needs of each moment.

In terms of trim levels, it is available in Confort and Premium specification. The former has a very attractive level of equipment, while the latter adds more systems and equipment to raise the vehicle’s overall offer a little further.

The final price for the Spanish market has not been specified, but everything suggests it will be priced below 30,000 euros.
