This is Mi DGT, the mobile app for carrying your documentation with you at all times

New technologies allow us to centralise all our operations on the mobile phone. It is increasingly common to have all our affairs on the mobile, and almost any of them can be carried out using this small device. Procedures related to the DGT have been possible for some time through the institution’s website, but now they can also be done thanks to the Mi DGT app.

This app can be downloaded from the Google Play and Apple Store stores and is installed with the usual ease. Once on the mobile phone, you only need to log in to the DGT account and start enjoying its benefits. To log in you must use the Cl@ve system (PIN24H), which can be requested through the DGT website, and then we can have on our device all the information regarding our vehicle and our driving licence.

Driving licence in Mi DGT

The DGT has stated that the digital driving licence shown in the Mi DGT app is fully valid and serves the same purpose as the physical licence. That said, the app is still being implemented and may fail on an exceptional basis. So the DGT advises also carrying the physical licence for the time being.

If we have to drive in a foreign country, it should be borne in mind that this digital licence is not valid there and the physical licence must always be carried. When accessing the Mi DGT app you have access to the licence, which can be shown to traffic agents and has the same validity as the physical document.

Available documentation

The Mi DGT app connects to the DGT database, so it allows you to find all the documents related to the holder. It lets you check the vehicle registration documents of all the vehicles the driver owns. In addition, it also shows the status of the MOT (ITV), the payment of the corresponding taxes and all the data needed to stay well informed.

You can also check the driving licence points and see whether there is any traffic fine. If there is one, the DGT app also allows payment or appeal of it. The app also features informative articles on the latest DGT news, so it is a very complete application that lets us have all the information regarding our licence on the mobile phone.
