This is the new SEAT Ibiza diesel ahead of 2018
SEAT has just unveiled the new diesel engines for its SEAT Ibiza, starting at 80 CV, moving up to 95 and topping out at 115 CV.

Compact cars are taking over the market because, little by little, they are becoming a very complete segment. They offer the versatility and comfort of a city car and the sturdiness and roominess of a saloon and, if we combine these two elements, we get a result that is very hard to beat. SEAT has shown this with the new Ibiza, which aims to be much more efficient with its new diesel engines.
The Spanish compact was launched with the intention of offering an affordable and practical product, but it is now even more so with the diesel powertrains. This new generation aims to appeal to all audiences and establish itself as one of the best-selling models in its segment and, to achieve this goal, SEAT has made sure to offer different variants so they can adapt to every possible situation.
The SEAT Ibiza comes with three diesel engines, ranging from 80 to 115 CV. All of them derive from the same 1.6-litre TDI engine and, like the petrol variants, they comply with Euro 6 emissions standards, thanks to the new technologies it incorporates, and SEAT aims for its engines to be as efficient and clean as possible.
To achieve this goal,
SEAT diesels are equipped with a selective catalytic reduction (SCR) system, which reduces and converts NOx particles into elements harmless to the environment. But this also requires an AdBlue tank alongside the fuel tank. It is responsible for purifying the exhaust gases to avoid harming the environment.
The most modest engine in the diesel range produces 80 CV and has enough capacity to move the Ibiza comfortably around town and handle the open road. This engine can only be paired with a five-speed manual gearbox and offers an average consumption of 3.8 l/100 km. The SEAT Ibiza with this engine becomes one of the most logical options for those who drive many kilometres each year.
The Ibiza with 95 CV ranks second among the diesel engines of the Spanish compact. In this version, an automatic DSG gearbox can be chosen as an option, but it will not be available until early 2018. The consumption this variant declares is also 3.8 l/100 km, and it becomes a very worthwhile option for those who need more power.
Finally, we find the 115 CV variant, which leads the diesel engine group of the new Ibiza. This model features a six-speed manual gearbox and promises consumption of 3.9 litres, although in practice we will probably see slightly more. This version seeks to offer a harmonious balance between performance and functionality. Prices for these ranges start at 16,530 euros and go up to 21,320 euros.
