This is the VW Golf GTI with almost 400 CV

The special tuner of the VAG Group has launched an upgrade to the power of the Golf GTI MK7 that increases its power and torque by 75 CV and 35 Nm respectively.

Mountune52 is the division of the group Volkswagen that reprograms its models to offer us versions with power levels completely out of the ordinary. This time it was the turn of the VW Golf GTI MK7. The eighth generation of the Golf is already here but due to the cancellation of the Geneva Motor Show because of coronavirus, its official presentation will have to wait.

Although the new Golf MK8 can already be ordered, the GTI model that the German tuner has modified corresponds to the previous generation for obvious reasons. The new GTI has not yet reached the streets although we have all its details and we recently brought you all the information.

How it has improved

This is the second stage of the model’s upgrade. As standard, this 7.5 GTI offers 220 CV and 350 Nm of torque. In the first reprogramming, this German compact rose above 300 CV and almost 400 Nm. But now with this Stage 2, the maximum power has been increased to 385 CV with a torque that rises to 510 Nm. In this way, the 0-100 km/h of this Golf nearly reaches 5 seconds while releasing 70% more power than its original version.

According to the director of the Mountune52 division, this latest upgrade shows not only the experience of performance improvement but also an expansion of the catalogue and of what Mountune52 is capable of. The Golf GTI is an incredibly popular car, with an unlimited community of fans, so this division strives almost daily to offer the next level of each model to give its faithful customers the best performance possible.

The complete power upgrade of this Phase 2 includes an adjustable shift light, performance measurements on the on-board computer, data logger, error code reader, oil and filter service, engraving with the Mountune52 badge… among others. To avoid factory defects, these prepared models are offered with a 12-month warranty.
