This Mosquito is one you'll want: the Czech supercar delivers 600 hp and a dynamic, powerful look

The Czech company Perfomance Solutions is working on a supercar model that will deliver 600 hp and will be ready in 2021

Besides being the inevitable and annoying companion of summer days and nights, the Mosquito was the name of a combat aircraft used in World War II. It is this second meaning that the engineers at Perfomance Solutions have drawn on to shape a race car fully adapted for road use. They based it on the De Havilland DH.98 Mosquito, taking low weight as its design principle to achieve performance and speed well suited to its spirit.

The Mosquito is still at a very early stage of development and there are still doubts about the equipment it will have, but according to the Czech company’s first specifications it will weigh 974 kg, a figure that will work in its favour when it comes to speed. It will be made of carbon fibre and powered by a naturally aspirated V8 engine that will deliver 600 hp and a maximum torque of 650 Nm, .

The engine itself has not yet been approved, but the company’s engineers have their eye on an American-made engine already proven in one of the cars on the market. The chosen engine will be paired with a single-clutch gearbox operated by paddles on the steering wheel, in the style of race cars. According to these figures, Perfomance Solutions expects the Mosquito to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and to reach a top speed of just over 320 km/h.

To give it everything on the track, it will not only have a fairly radical aerodynamic kit, but will also be equipped with the company’s own Active Ride Control system, which will allow the mechanics to work in sync to deliver maximum performance. The rear wing, a front diffuser and a central upper fin will provide good aerodynamic performance, without giving up the ability to drive on the road if necessary.

The car will presumably arrive in two years’ time and only 18 units will be built, with an approximate price of 1.3 million euros, each one personalised by its buyer, who will have an almost exclusive car. A supercar within reach of only a few, joining the ever-growing club of supercars that make us dream.
