Trabant will return in September

Many people may not know the Trabant brand, a small sedan manufactured in East Germany during the era of the Iron Curtain. The brand had been completely dormant until now, but it was acquired by Herpa, which plans to bring the model to market.
In 2007, a model of a future Trabant was already presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show. However, at that time the brand did not have sufficient resources to bring the model to market.
But things have changed, and in a few weeks, at this year’s Frankfurt Motor Show, Herpa will present the first concept of the new Trabant, and it will also revive the cellulose composite for its bodywork. We will have to wait and see, but it seems another project is being born, in the style of Mini.
