Two Abarth employees steal parts worth more than one million euros

Italian police arrested two Abarth employees who had been stealing, for a year, various parts and spare components that were sold online at a much lower price than the original.

Another 23 people, Abarth employees and members of the Italian postal service, were detained by the authorities for questioning about their connection to the theft of these parts. The theft ring was uncovered because orders were arriving incomplete or not arriving at all at the Abarth dealer network.

Nothing was off limits for these two rogue Abarth employees, as they were able to sell on the black market everything from racing seats and turbochargers to brake components and even clothing bearing the Abarth brand.

The temptation of seeing Abarth accessories and parts advertised online at a much lower price was hard to resist: for example, an original Abarth control unit that costs 1,500 euros was being delivered to the customer’s front door for around 300 euros.
