Vehicle sales rise 5.3% in the first half of April

For the time being, it seems we are seeing good figures and good prospects for the rest of April. According to data from the Institute of Automotive Studies (IEA) for the National Association of Motor Vehicle Dealers (Ganvam), registrations in the first half of March have risen by 5.3% compared with the same period last year.
With Easter now behind us and April having many working days, it is possible to measure more accurately whether the PIVE 2 Plan is having a positive impact on sales. And it seems it is, since the market appears to be showing slow signs of recovery: 21,312 units registered.
The private buyer channel has shown the greatest progress in sales, with 10,059 units registered, 10.5% more than in April last year. The PIVE 2 Plan is slowly gaining momentum, which has proven to be a more than good decision for reviving sales. And although electric vehicles represent almost symbolic figures in Spain, it is expected that the aid for electric vehicles will be activated as soon as possible.
For their part, vehicle rental companies are preparing for the summer, which is possibly the reason for a spectacular increase of 55.4% in sales in this channel so far this month. However, businesses are seeing their sales collapse by 24.9%, so it is still premature to declare victory. We will see how the trend continues and whether by the end of the month we can report more optimistic and even better figures.
