VIDEO: This is how the Lamborghini Urus accelerates from 0 to 300 km/h, faster than a Gallardo
The Lamborghini Urus is one of the fastest SUVs in the world. In the following video we can see how it outpaces the Lamborghini Gallardo in acceleration.
The Lamborghini Urus is one of the most brutal SUVs on the market, only surpassed in performance by the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk. Some critics point out that the Italian SUV was built on the same platform as the rest of the crossovers in the VAG group (meaning it isn’t a “pure-bred” within the Lamborghini range), but nobody can doubt its performance. The Urus goes from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, an absolute outrage for a car that weighs more than two tonnes. In fact, as we can see in the following video, these performance figures allow it to challenge one of the most popular supercars from the Italian manufacturer: the Lamborghini Gallardo LP560-4.

And you may be wondering, how can the Lamborghini Urus outpace a high-performance supercar in a straight line? – logically the question would be very different if we analysed cornering – the reality is that if we only look at the performance and qualities of each, it makes no sense.
Urus vs Gallardo: nearly 700 kg heavier, yet 0.1 seconds faster from 0 to 100 km/h

The Gallardo LP560-4 features a naturally aspirated V10 engine that produces 560 CV of power and weighs 1,643 kg. The Lamborghini Urus, meanwhile, has a twin-turbo V8 engine producing 650 CV of power (90 CV more than the Gallardo) and weighs 2,200 kg (almost 700 kg more than the Gallardo). Even so, the Gallardo accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.7 seconds, that is, 0.1 seconds slower than the Urus.
The Auto TopNL test: from 0 to 300 km/h in 43 seconds
The Gallardo’s top speed is indeed higher than the Urus’s: 325 km/h for the supercar, compared with 305 km/h for the SUV. In the following video, the Auto TopNL team performs a 0 to 303 km/h acceleration in the Italian SUV, clearly demonstrating the outstanding straight-line performance this Lamborghini Urus delivers.
