VinFast is planning two new electric models: one of them could revolutionise the European market
The Vietnamese brand is preparing two new electric models, one dedicated to the American market and another, an electric city car, that could cost €12,000

The Vietnamese car brand is about to arrive in Europe, ready to carve out a place in the electric car market on our continent. For now, two models from the brand will be presented, the VF6 and the VF7, which will compete in several countries with the cars already present there. But in Vietnam, there is a third model that is enjoying a certain success and could reach Europe in the future.
The VF5 is a small compact, which seeks to become a benchmark for urban driving. It is only sold in Vietnam, but the brand could consider a version designed for the European market. This will be announced shortly, when two new electric models are launched, aimed at buyers in external markets.

The Vietnamese brand’s intention is to keep growing and reach 50,000 units sold throughout 2023. To do so, it will launch a model that will seek to compete with electric pick-ups, especially those coming from the United States. This pick-up aims to establish itself in that market, so it is a vehicle designed to meet the demands of that demanding market.

The other model will be, according to the signs, a version of the VF5 that could be designed for sale in Europe. It would be a small compact with a selling price of around 12,000 euros. It could also be a completely new model, although its spirit would certainly be that of the Vietnamese model.
As for that one, it has a length of 3.9 metres, which makes it very suitable for getting around the city. And looking at the engine, it offers an output of 100 kW, equivalent to 135 CV. The battery is 37.23 kWh, which allows a range of around 300 kilometres under NEDC homologation.
This car has a price equivalent to 18,300 euros, so to achieve a price of 12,000 euros in Europe, they will have to reduce the manufacturing cost of the model.
