VinFast VF7: the new compact crossover from the Vietnamese manufacturer
Everything points to this new electric crossover later reaching other markets such as Europe or North America, where VinFast already sells other electric models
VinFast has just expanded its range of electric models with a new crossover, joining the already well-known VF8 and VF9. The Vietnamese manufacturer will initially sell this new model in its home market, where it will be available from around 32 thousand euros at current exchange rates, before later starting exports to other countries where the brand is already present.
It should be pointed out, however, that those 32 thousand euros refer to the entry-level version of the new VF7 without the battery pack. VinFast will offer customers in Vietnam the option of paying a monthly rental fee for battery use of around 100 euros at current exchange rates, with a limit of 3 thousand kilometres per month. If this figure is exceeded, the fee will increase by approximately 80 percent. Customers who opt to rent the battery pack will also have to pay around 1,550 euros as a deposit, which will be refunded when the battery pack is returned to the manufacturer.

Obviously, there is also the option of buying the vehicle including the battery pack, as is usually the case. In that case, the VF7 in Vietnam will have a price starting at around 37,500 euros at current exchange rates.
With one or two electric motors
In Vietnam, this new electric crossover will be available in two different versions, called Base and Plus. The first will feature a single 130 kW motor paired with a 59.6 kWh battery pack. The manufacturer promises that, this way, its range under the WLTP homologation cycle can reach 375 km on a single charge.
Additionally, the Plus version will have dual electric motors and all-wheel drive, with a combined output of both motors reaching 260 kW. The battery pack in this version will also have a larger capacity, with a total of 75.3 kWh, which will allow it to travel, according to the manufacturer, up to 431 km on a single charge. Always under the WLTP homologation cycle.

VinFast will offer a ten-year or 200 thousand km warranty, whichever comes first, and another 10-year warranty for the battery pack with no mileage limit. The Vietnamese manufacturer will begin accepting reservations in its home market from 2 December onwards, for which a non-refundable deposit of around 1,800 euros at current exchange rates will be required. Deliveries are expected to begin in Vietnam in early 2024.
