Beetle Volkswagen Coches clásicos Curiosities
Volkswagen 1973 Beetle restored to the last detail
This Volkswagen 1973 Beetle is a fully restored model, down to the smallest detail.

Unfortunately, today’s Volkswagen Beetle takes a path quite different, one that has not convinced everyone, and I am not a dyed-in-the-wool fan of the Beetles, I admit it. But I recognise its whole history in the automotive world, and when one shows up in perfect restored condition, I suddenly find myself wanting one of these cars; like this 1973, restored down to the last insignificant screw.
The work done on the bodywork (or perhaps it is the colour that catches the eye) is exceptional. According to its restorer, all the chrome parts have been replaced. And if you look underneath, there is no need to say it is perfect, since it is even better than when it was new.

The engine has been fully restored and is the original engine of this Beetle, the 1.6 with 50 horsepower. In those days you did not need much more than a four-speed gearbox and a small engine to move around with ease, so the restoration includes the complete transmission, of course, and an engine bay the Germans would have envied for 1973.
For this Beetle they are asking the equivalent of 17,000 euros. It is expensive, and with that money you could buy a new car. But I have thought it over carefully: if I were to buy a Beetle, I would buy it to restore over the long term. Perhaps this blue Beetle will convince me.
