The Volkswagen Caddy will be the most efficient vehicle in the brand’s commercial vehicle line, as we will be able to see at the upcoming presentation of the Caddy BlueMotion, in a few days’ time. The German brand will exclusively show the new Caddy in Frankfurt, thanks to the optimisation of the engine and the inclusion of several solutions aimed at reducing consumption.

The BlueMotion will be distinguished from the rest of the Caddy range by a few exterior details: new BlueMotion badges and new wheels. The bodywork has been lowered by 2.7 cm to achieve better aerodynamic penetration. Specific interior details are not yet known, but it has been revealed that it will include cruise control, exclusive upholstery for the seats and some exclusive finishes such as black air vents.

But the Caddy BlueMotion will truly shine in its engine. As a work vehicle, the 1.6-litre TDI engine has been improved to the maximum, and it will now include Start/Stop, a braking energy recovery system and an optimised ECU. New low-rolling-resistance tyres also help to keep consumption low. Homologated consumption ranges between 4.5 and 4.6 l/100 km, depending on the body version.

The new Caddy will first arrive at German dealerships, where it will have a price of €17,720. The versions on sale will be the panel van, the Kombi and the passenger van.
