Volkswagen Golf MKVII, new spy photos

New spy photos have just surfaced of what we will one day call Volkswagen Golf, a compact destined for success simply because it is a Volkswagen, something that has happened with all of its previous generations. Judging by the photos, we are looking at a vehicle that, at least in terms of proportions, will not change much from the current version.

Even so, this may not be the most interesting part, since the Golf rumour mill has been joined by enticements such as a much more distinctive three-door version or new engines below 2.0 litres, which should make the new Golf a much more affordable compact thanks to the reduction in taxes linked to emissions.

If you are one of those already waiting for the new Golf MKVII to arrive so you can reserve yours, here comes the tragedy: the new model is not expected to reveal its final look until mid-2012 at the earliest, so to buy one you will have to wait until the first quarter of 2013 at the earliest.
