Volkswagen introduces a new engine for the Tiguan and downsizing for the Passat and CC
Volkswagen announces a new engine for the Tiguan, the reduction of displacement for the 1.8-litre TSI and the addition of the RNS 315 navigation package for some models.

With new engines to improve the efficiency of its model range, as well as some equipment details on other models, Volkswagen has presented the changes it will be rolling out for several models in its range, ahead of the year-end season.
The main news comes with the Tiguan range, which now features a new engine, the 177 CV TDI, replacing the 170 CV unit, offering greater performance and improvements in consumption and emissions. It also adds, from now on, the option of fitting the innovative Tech Xenon package on the popular T1 trim. This package includes the Park Assist 2.0 assisted parking system, Dynamic Light Assist, Lane Assist and self-levelling Bi-Xenon headlights.
For its part, the Passat, Passat Variant and Volkswagen CC range reduces the displacement of one of its petrol engines, the 160 CV 1.8 TSI, which becomes a 1.4, for both the manual and the DSG automatic gearbox. This new engine offers a combined-cycle consumption of 5.2 litres per 100 km.
In addition, the RNS 315 navigation package is now included for the Polo, Golf Plus and Jetta models. This navigation system has the advantage of holding the navigation data for all of Western Europe integrated into the system’s hard drive, so there is no need to use the DVD to load it. All of this adds to its already well-known features: 5-inch touchscreen, CD player, MP3, WMA, SD and an Aux-in socket on the front panel.
