Volvo XC90, the flagship SUV from Volvo, gets a facelift

The XC90 has refreshed its look with improvements in both mechanical and styling aspects. A model that marked the beginning of the transformation of the Swedish manufacturer.

Volvo has presented an improved version of its XC90. The introduction of the new “B” badge in its innovative integrated electrified powertrain marks the next step in its ambitious strategy to electrify all of its future models.

These new “B”-badged vehicles complement the plug-in hybrid electrification option of the engine T8, offering customers up to 15% fuel savings.

Exterior refinement and interior comfort

It features subtle design changes on the exterior. New wheels and colours accompany the redesigned grille, which is joined by the front headlights Thor’s Hammer.

The success of this model and its more than 320,000 units sold may have prompted the design team to make many changes; after all, prevention is better than cure.

Regarding the interior, there is a notable change, such as its new seating configuration, which ranges from the 4-seat Excellence version to the 7-seat family SUV, with the new option of fitting 6 independent seats. Features that adapt to every need.

Technological features

Since its market debut, it has become more advanced. Likewise, in terms of technology and connectivity it offers new exclusive driving systems and assistance features.

Regarding driving assistance, it incorporates the City Safety with Autobrake system, the only one on the market that recognises pedestrians, cyclists and animals.

Other systems, such as Oncoming Line Mitigation, are included for the first time on the XC90. All of this makes this model one of the safest vehicles available.

Also, in terms of connectivity, the Swedish brand was the first to incorporate Apple CarPlay, which, alongside Android Auto and Spotify, is part of its information and entertainment systems.
