The Smart is one of the urban models that takes up the least space. A car designed to enjoy urban spaces, with a host of features that let it fit into any spot. But being a small car doesn’t mean it lacks style, as we already know. Now the Smart fourtwo cabrio arrives, a version of this four-seater that also offers the option of three roof positions, so you can enjoy a different car on every occasion.

As I said, the roof has three positions, allowing for a fabric soft top, a roof-off open-air configuration, or a 100% convertible, with the entire upper section removed. This feature comes from the Tritop soft top, which, combined with the removable roof rails, makes these three roof types possible. It has also become the first cabrio in its segment, where this kind of configuration is not usually found.

Aesthetically, it is a traditional Smart, with the distinguishing feature that the roof can be removed. The roof can be fully retracted in 12 seconds, even while driving at top speed. In addition, the bonnet can be opened with the remote key without being in the car, so it is ready by the time you get in.

Its figures are typical for this type of vehicle: a length of 2.69 metres, a width of 1.66 metres and a height of 1.55 metres. One difference from the other versions is the B-pillar, which is narrower, giving it a sportier and more dynamic silhouette.

The Smart FourTwo Cabrio is available with two engines: the first produces 70 CV and the second 90 CV. Both engines are paired with a dual-clutch automatic gearbox, and from 2017 a five-speed manual gearbox will also be available. The Smart FourTwo Cabrio in this version starts at 16,915 euros for the 70 CV version, while the 90 CV version is priced at 17,842 euros.
