What are the new DGT procedures that can be carried out at Correos?
Correos post offices allow in-person handling of various procedures of the Dirección General de Tráfico (DGT, Spain’s Traffic Authority).

What are the new DGT procedures that can be carried out at Correos? Yes, you read that right. Until just a few days ago, a number of procedures could be carried out at Correos post offices, but the Spanish postal service has had to update and add more procedures so that users can carry them out conveniently at its offices.
As you probably know, the Dirección General de Tráfico makes its electronic headquarters available to users, from which operations can be carried out with an electronic certificate or DNI-e, along with a very comprehensive mobile app. However, some users prefer to carry out procedures in person at the offices of the Provincial Traffic Headquarters.
Correos will allow DGT procedures to be carried out

Now, Correos offices will allow users to carry out certain procedures related to the Dirección General de Tráfico. For example, it is now possible to change the registered owner of a vehicle. For the time being, the Correos offices that handle ownership changes are:
- Sucursal 29 in Madrid. Address: Calle de Arturo Soria, No. 189. 28043, Madrid.
- Sucursal 22 in Barcelona. Address: Avenida Mistral, No. 44, 08015, Barcelona.
- Oficina Principal de Correos in Murcia. Address: Plaza Circular, No. 8, Murcia. 8
- Oficina Principal de Correos in Logroño. Address: Calle Once de Junio, No. 1, 26001, Logroño.
- Oficina Principal de Correos in Barakaldo. Address: Calle Arana y Trav. Ibarra, No. 8, 48901, Basque Country.
- Oficina Principal de Correos in Gandía. Address: Calle San Rafael, No. 21, 46701, Valencian Community.
- Oficina Principal de Correos in Calahorra. Address: Calle Ruiz y Menta, No. 7, La Rioja.
However, at Correos offices, ownership changes can only be processed if one of the following cases applies:
- Change of vehicle service
- Vehicle renting
- Ownership changes through inheritance or donation
- Court award or auction
- Sale where the buyer is in possession of the vehicle
- Existence of co-owners, in the case of the vehicle seller
- Transfer of a vehicle from Ceuta, Melilla and the Canary Islands to the mainland and the Balearic Islands, and vice versa
Changing the registered owner of a vehicle costs €80.15, of which €55.15 is the DGT fee and €25 is the management fee charged by Correos. For motorcycles, the price is €52.57 (VAT included), of which €27.57 corresponds to the fee applied by the DGT to the service and €25.00 to Correos management fees.
Not only can this procedure be carried out, but the DGT environmental label can also be requested either in person or in the online shop at a cost of five euros. You must present the vehicle’s registration document and the DNI of the vehicle owner. A duplicate of the vehicle registration document can also be requested. It costs €30.10, of which €20.60 corresponds to the fee applied by the DGT to the service and €9.50 to Correos management fees.

It can be requested at any office. After presenting the necessary documentation, Correos requests the DGT to send the duplicate by certified mail to the postal address chosen. In addition, Correos provides you with a provisional driving authorisation so that you can drive.
Another procedure that can be carried out is requesting vehicle reports. This service is available at all computerised offices, and the report is delivered immediately. It costs €13.59 (€8.59 DGT fee + €5 management commission).
