With 1 euro you can rent a car thanks to DriiveMe

In 2012, two young Frenchmen named Alexandre and Geoffroy Lambert created the DriiveMe platform, a mobility solution that offered rental agencies the possibility of replacing the costly truck transfers of their fleets with private drivers.

DriiveMe has already arrived in our country and offers an innovative and affordable mobility solution: vehicle rental for just 1 euro.

The process of renting a car with DriiveMe is very similar to that of a regular rental. The driver signs up on the platform, chooses from the available destinations, and the date and time at which they will pick up the vehicle. Once the route has been booked, for the symbolic price of 1 euro, the only thing they will have to pay is the tolls – if any – and the fuel, as with any other traditional rental service. The vehicle comes with comprehensive insurance from Allianz.

Where’s the catch?

The user can only choose from the destinations offered by the rental companies that need their vehicles returned to their original stations. If no offer matches the user’s wishes, they have the option to create their own personalised alert, and will be notified when the journey becomes available on DriiveMe. In addition, users will have a mileage limit: they can only exceed the distance from the origin station to the destination station by 10%.

Following its success in France, where it has more than 500,000 users and manages 3,500 trips a month, DriiveMe has chosen the Spanish market to begin its expansion in Europe. “We chose Spain because its geographical characteristics are very similar to those of France. While train and plane ticket prices keep rising, DriiveMe offers the chance to rent a car for the price of a can of soft drink,” says Constantin Lambert, DriiveMe’s Country Manager for the Spanish market.
