Xiaomi MS11: the tech giant's first electric car

Thanks to leaked images released ahead of its official presentation, the much-anticipated electric car from the Chinese company has just been revealed

Back in October 2021, Xiaomi announced that production of electric vehicles would begin in 2024, entering a completely new sector for the company, and used that announcement to show a vehicle hidden under a cover that, to this day, we have not been able to see.

The name of this first Xiaomi electric car will be MS11, a name that follows the tech giant’s trend with other products such as phones, scooters or household appliances. Although we have already been able to see it practically uncovered, its official presentation has not yet taken place.

Almost fully uncovered

The leak consists of two images that let us see the design of this sporty-looking saloon almost completely, with a very aerodynamic and attractive design that, if offered at an affordable price, could become a truly well-rounded product.

Starting with the analysis of its design, the new Xiaomi MS11 features a very modern look with fluid shapes, with LED light clusters that subtly recall those of a McLaren, a sporty-designed bumper with small air intakes, a side profile with flush door handles and large alloy wheels, and a fairly athletic silhouette with a three-box design.

In the image showing both the rear and the upper part of the new Xiaomi, we can make out horizontal LED taillights running from end to end across the back, a panoramic glass roof that would give the cabin great spaciousness and brightness, and a pronounced hip line to round off its sporty appearance.

High level of automation

In addition, one of the elements that most catches the eye in its styling is the camera module fitted above the front windscreen, which will allow the MS11 to offer a high level of autonomous driving and very advanced safety assistance systems.

As for its mechanical specifications, no specific figure has been confirmed yet, although there are rumours that it could feature two electric motors, one on each axle, to produce a power output of about 260 kW (354 CV).

That said, all that remains is to wait for the company to announce when its official presentation will take place so that more details of its much-anticipated electric car can be revealed.
