Almost everyone likes convertibles. People associate them with freedom, the pleasure of driving, good company…

Company that is usually limited, since convertibles, as a general rule, are two-seaters or, at most, 2+2. Until now, when Audi Germany presents us with a creation that is, to say the least, striking.

The Audi A3 Cabrio was launched on the market in 2008 with the last facelift of the second generation of the German compact. With a very refined silhouette, it had room for four occupants and a compact two-door body.

However, although until now we thought it was, it was not the first A3 ever built, since this curious creation uses body elements without the facelift. Either way, it is a one-off car that, of course, was not built in series, but by hand by the lads at Audi Germany.

It is not known whether this particular model was built for a specific event or was simply a technical exercise by the apprentice department of the brand with the four rings. The result is surprising, as are the figures: six doors, three rows of seats and up to eight occupants in a 2+3+3 configuration. What it doesn’t seem to have is a roof, since due to the length of the vehicle a soft top would be completely unfeasible.

No details are known about the mechanics of this creation, although the equipment fitted is not bad at all, with 17″ wheels, S-Line exterior and interior package, sporty leather seats and piano black trim, which give it an interesting touch.
We imagine the dynamic qualities of this “super-convertible” won’t be very impressive, but for taking the whole family out to enjoy the fresh air it doesn’t seem like a bad solution.
