A bit of pepper for Volvo: C30 Polestar Prototype Concept

That Volvo hasn’t had as many sports models as others in its history, having focused mostly on family cars and saloons, doesn’t mean no tuner has devoted themselves to them. The Volvo C30 in its version as it leaves the company’s factory is one of the most beautiful and eye-catching cars you can buy in its price range, and now has been modified by Polestar with the C30 Polestar Prototype Concept, a C30 based on the successful cars of the brand in the Swedish touring car championship.

For those of you who don’t know it, Polestar is the official tuner of Volvo with 15 years of experience in modifying several models and engines of the brand and is part of Volvo’s official racing team. Last year they won the STCC with a C30, whose modifications will now be offered to the general public.

The C30 Polestar has the same five-cylinder engine, but tuned to 400 horsepower, almost double the original 222 hp. Traction is controlled by Quaife mechanical differentials, together with a Haldex all-wheel-drive system, the same drivetrain used in the race car, according to Polestar.
