A Fisker Karma catches fire while parked

A second Fisker Karma catches fire for reasons that are still unknown.
Electric vehicles still haven’t quite fitted into our society, or just ask Fisker, the maker of an eco-friendly ultra-luxury saloon. Only a few months after the first Karma caught fire and exploded in a garage at a house in Texas, another model from the company went up in flames while parked in a car park in Woodside, California.
The details surrounding the incident are completely unknown to us, but a witness who saw what happened claimed the car had its engine switched off while its owner was shopping; shortly afterwards, the owner called the emergency services.
Fortunately, the firefighters managed to put out the flames without any problem, but the car was completely burnt out, fit for the scrapheap. No one was injured in the incident.
Fisker has responded to the matter as follows: “We have full confidence in the Fisker Karma. Safety is our top priority, and our Fisker staff has been in contact with the customer and is investigating the cause. We are also using an anonymous employee to help clarify the causes and assist in the analysis. A further statement will be issued once the root cause has been determined.”
So you know, if you want to buy a super saloon, go for petrol or diesel please, or more fires may occur.

Hola, Chema:
No sé si tienes algún interés económico puesto en la combustión, pero si no lo tienes, declarar que “los vehículos eléctricos no acaban de encajar en nuestra sociedad” o animar a tus lectores a comprar vehículos de combustión, me parece desafortunado y si me apuras mezquino. Te animo a que conozcas los coches elétricos de Tesla o a que te informes de si los vehículos elétricos de una compañía grande como Renault también arden cuando están parados. Y a un nivel más profundo, te animo a que reflexiones sobre cómo serían nuestras ciudades y mundo en general si en vez de estar poblado de quemadores de petróleo (en esencia similares a los de hace 100 años) lo estuviera de vehículos eléctricos silenciosos y no emisores de humos.

Siento si he podido ofenderte a ti u otros lectores, pero no era mi intención. Respecto a la frase “los vehículos eléctricos no acaban de encajar en nuestra sociedad” te guste o no es cierta.
Apenas se venden vehículos eléctricos principalmente debido a su excesivo precio y a la poca autonomía que suelen tener.
No tengo ningún interés económico en ningún tipo de motor, aunque la verdad es que soy más partidarío de un gasolina en estos momentos que de un eléctrico y eso que si se llegasen a mejorar los tiempos de carga y la autonomía me plantearía seriamente comprarme uno de estos últimos para los días laborables.
