A glimpse of the spectacular interior of the Volvo EM90 ahead of its launch
The Volvo EM90 is a different kind of vehicle, one in which you will probably prefer to let someone else drive on a long journey so you can enjoy the second row of seats
Ahead of its presentation on 12 November, the Swedish manufacturer, now under the control of Chinese automotive giant Geely, has just unveiled new information about its new electric minivan, the EM90. The company describes this new model as “a living room on the move with Scandinavian design“, and specifies that during its development the goal was not to create more space to carry more things, but to create a space in which to enjoy life.
According to Volvo, six occupants can travel inside the EM90, spread across three rows of seats. But it will be those in the second row who enjoy VIP treatment, since unlike the others, they will have ventilated and heated seats, and even massage, as well as folding tables and cup holders at their disposal. The cushioning of this second row of seats, known as zero-gravity, will also offer greater comfort thanks to its seven-layer structure, 120 millimetres thick. Controls on the seat armrests for the vehicle’s infotainment system and a touchscreen are also included.

The third row of seats, on the other hand, will offer better accessibility than that of other rivals, thanks to the sliding doors and the possibility of sliding the second row forward. In this case, the manufacturer does not mention whether ventilation, heating or massage is available in the seats of this third row, so we understand that they lack these features.
Make yourself at home
Other notable features of the Volvo EM90’s interior include its panoramic sunroof with an automatic blind and ambient lighting, which, according to the manufacturer itself, create a genuine Scandinavian atmosphere. Other details with a strong Scandinavian inspiration include the glass inlay on the gear selector and the illuminated wood panels on the dashboard, the doors and the lower part of the seats.
Volvo states that whatever options are chosen for the EM90’s cabin, Volvo customers can be sure they are enjoying a premium experience that conveys tranquillity and reflects the brand’s modern vehicle design.

The Volvo EM90 is the Swedish manufacturer’s first minivan in its entire history, and will go on sale in China on 12 November following its official presentation. We do not yet know when it will arrive in Europe or other markets.
