Mercedes-Benz delivers the first eActros 300 semitrailer in Germany
Series production of this electric truck variant, the eActros 300 from Mercedes-Benz, will start before the end of the year, according to the company itself.
Logistik Schmitt, a family-owned company based in Bietigheim, has had the honour of receiving the first unit of the eActros 300 semitrailer electric truck. This variant of the eActros 300 includes only the tractor unit, instead of the full chassis. Otherwise, it features exactly the same drive system with three battery packs, each with a capacity of 112 kWh, which together allow it a range of 220 kilometres.
When recharging, the eActros 300 supports peaks of 160 kW. According to the manufacturer, this makes it possible to increase the battery’s state of charge from 20 to 80 percent in just over an hour.

It is important to note, however, that although, as we said, this is the first tractor unit of the eActros 300 delivered in Germany, it is not the first in Europe. In June of this year, Mercedes-Benz had already delivered another pre-series unit to the Dutch company Simon Loos, which works in logistics in the food sector. Following the delivery of these two units, the German manufacturer plans to start series production of this variant of the eActros 300 before the end of this year.
Electric trucks such as the eActros 300 are beginning to carve out a place in the market
Logistik Schmitt plans to receive five additional units of the eActros 300 semitrailer, in addition to the one it already has. The company plans to use them to transport engines from its facilities in Germersheim to the Mercedes-Benz plant in Wörth, 25 kilometres away. In the near future, the company’s engine plant in Mannheim will also be added to the route.

At the handover of this eActros 300 semitrailer unit, Ronald Ott, Head of Truck Sales at Mercedes-Benz, wanted to highlight that Logistik Schmitt has been an important partner for them in the tests carried out with the eActros 300 since 2019. From the first prototype of the semitrailer variant of this electric truck, Logistik Schmitt has been key to us through intensive testing that proved very helpful in developing the product. He added that it is also a source of pride that the company has now decided to permanently integrate several units of the eActros 300 semitrailer into its business operations.
