A Mercedes Maybach S-Class is the 50 millionth vehicle of the brand
The history of Mercedes-Benz is already extensive enough for the brand to reach a very important milestone: the production of the 50 millionth car

Sometimes we comment that at some production plant a model has become the “number such-and-such” to roll off its line. But of course, we do not always have the opportunity to showcase the “50 millionth vehicle” produced under a brand’s umbrella. That can only happen with brands that have a long history behind them, and Mercedes-Benz is certainly one of the few that can reach that milestone.
It happened a few days ago at the brand’s “Factory 56“, where, among others, the Mercedes S-Class is assembled, and where the future Mercedes EQS will be built, which will become the flagship of the German brand’s electric range. It was from here that the 50 millionth vehicle produced under the badge came, and a Mercedes Maybach S-Class was the one that had the honor of taking that spot.

50 million vehicles in 75 years
The history of Mercedes began a long time ago, so that time has allowed a huge number of vehicles to be produced, culminating in this 50 millionth unit. The Mercedes Maybach S-Class is a variant of the S-Class with a longer wheelbase. This allows for more interior space and greater comfort.
It also has more equipment than the standard Mercedes S-Class, so it is a slightly more upscale model than the one it is based on. For example, it includes an active noise cancellation system, massage seats with calf massage function, ambient lighting, gesture control and the finest materials for the interior trim, among other things.

It is equipped with several engines, although we can mention the S650 version, which features a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine that delivers 621 CV. Another engine it offers is a 4.0-liter V8 with 496 CV, to which an additional 21 CV is added in the S580 4MATIC version. This variant has 48-volt mild hybrid assistance, so its performance is improved thanks to this electrified addition.
Mercedes is not going to rest on its laurels and will continue its successful run by adding new electric models to its lineup. Specifically, it expects to have six new EQ models, and its factories are working toward production with neutral emissions. A forward-looking bet to reach 75 million units produced in a shorter span of time. Mercedes has been a benchmark for many years and intends to remain one.
