A new Italian brand launches a two-seater with a V8 engine and a manual gearbox
Automobili Mignatta has confirmed that production of the Rina will be limited to just 30 units per year, with a launch planned for 8 May
Italy, land of iconic car brands, welcomes a new player to the world of exclusive sports cars. Automobili Mignatta, an emerging firm based in Valfenera d’Asti, Piedmont, has unveiled its first model: the Rina, a two-seater speedster that combines retro design with cutting-edge technology and a production run limited to just 30 units per year.

Classic elegance with modern materials
The Automobili Mignatta Rina draws its inspiration from the sports cars of the 1960s, but with a contemporary approach. It features a carbon fibre monocoque chassis, which allows it to reach a dry weight of just 1,000 kg (2,200 lb). The bodywork is also made of lightweight carbon fibre.
The first images show a design with a long, sculpted bonnet, muscular wings and a distinctive, eye-catching rear. Elements such as the tinted headlights, roll hoops and prominent rear spoiler reinforce its sporting character, while the round LED tail lights add a modern touch without losing its classic charm.

The brand has opted for purity of driving, eliminating any unnecessary distractions from the Rina’s interior. There is no infotainment system or radio, as the main soundtrack comes from the V8 engine. In addition, the driver’s and passenger’s seats are moulded directly into the carbon monocoque.
Naturally aspirated V8 engine and manual gearbox
Under the Rina’s bonnet sits a naturally aspirated V8, mounted mid-front. This engine is coupled to a six-speed manual gearbox, which sends power to the rear wheels through a limited-slip differential. Although Automobili Mignatta has not yet revealed power and performance figures, its low weight promises an exceptional power-to-weight ratio and an extremely dynamic drive.
According to Josè Mignatta, the brand’s founder, the Rina has been designed to “attack the bends of the hills of Monferrato, Langhe or Roero while enjoying the extraordinary Piedmontese landscapes”.

Only 30 units a year
Automobili Mignatta has confirmed that production of the Rina will be limited to just 30 units per year, making it a highly exclusive vehicle. 8 May is the key date, when the Italian firm will officially reveal all the details of its speedster at a special event.
The price has not yet been announced but, given its exclusivity, high-end materials and mechanical configuration, it is likely to sit in a league reserved for the most demanding collectors and enthusiasts.
