A Skoda Superb with 560 CV: the wolf in sheep's clothing par excellence

This Skoda Superb has undergone a series of modifications, which have enabled it to develop an impressive 560 CV of power.

Most very powerful vehicles are accompanied by a sporty and flamboyant styling, which seeks to reflect the power range hidden within the heart of that model. However, in the automotive world there is an unofficial category that refers to those cars whose styling does not match their performance, known as wolves in sheep’s clothing. Some time ago we offered a ranking of the best examples of that “segment”, but today we bring you what may be the best example of all: a Skoda Superb with no less than 560 CV of power.

The Czech-built saloon has always been a benchmark in its segment, where it is able to offer one of the best value-for-money ratios. This is also supported by a quality of finishes on a par with its rivals and by a range of engines that are powerful, smooth and ready to deliver a high level of comfort. However, Michael, owner of this spectacular Superb, has decided to go much further and unlock a facet of the saloon that had remained unexplored until now.

As standard, this Skoda Superb came with the well-known petrol engine , a four-cylinder unit with a 2.0-litre displacement. Thanks to this engine, the Czech saloon is capable of producing 280 CV of power and 350 Nm of torque. However, the owner of this Superb was not satisfied, which is why he carried out a series of modifications to bring out the hidden potential of that turbocharged heart.

In terms of styling, there are few changes that would lead you to deduce that this Skoda Superb hides 560 CV beneath its bodywork, but Michael decided to give his car some more sporty details. On one hand, there are new multi-spoke wheels that reveal, to some extent, the new character of this souped-up saloon, and which are fitted with semi-slick tyres. At the rear there is a new diffuser, which not only has a more aggressive design but also houses the twin exit of the custom exhaust fitted to this very special Skoda Superb.

But it is in the mechanical section that the story of this Superb becomes truly interesting. The first thing Michael admits is that he carried out a swap, which consisted of replacing the original engine with that of an Audi S3. Once the foundation had been established, Michael began installing various upgrades. Among them is a Stage 3 tune, accompanied by a forged engine, as well as the seven-speed DSG gearbox, a job carried out by ARP so that it could withstand more torque without problems.

With an acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.9 seconds, this Skoda Superb is set to not only frighten various supercars, but to become the perfect vehicle par excellence. In this way, Michael has managed to obtain a car fast enough to have fun with and, at the same time, keep intact the comfort and ride quality that characterise the Skoda saloon. However, to achieve this combination it was also necessary to upgrade various components, such as the brakes and the suspension (Bilstein B14), in order to be able to deliver the 560 CV without any risk.
