A sports car, a saloon and an SUV: that is what the three new electric models from Lexus will look like

Lexus has shown on its Facebook account its three new fully electric concepts. Shall we take a look at them?

Lexus Ev1

Until just a few weeks ago, we did not know the intentions of Lexus and Toyota regarding full electrification. During the presentation of that plan, we were able to see around 16 electric cars that left us wanting more, including the Lexus RZ 450e, which is based on the same platform used by the Toyota bz4X. In addition, during that same event, Lexus revealed what could become the successor to the fully electric Lexus LFA. At that time, we only knew the model from a front view, but now the brand has published more images on the official Facebook account of the manufacturer in Japan.

Along with the new images, the car has been conceptually named Lexus Electrified Sport, and it can be read: “a model that symbolises the future of Lexus, focused on a challenging proposition”. This concept is not the only one ready to be shown. The manufacturer has also revealed the Lexus Electrified Sedan concept, a model that, according to the brand, is “the most sophisticated journey in history”.

Everything we know about the three new fully electric models from Lexus

This saloon will possibly become the fully electric successor to the Lexus IS, a body style that received a major update only a few months ago. The concept keeps the same lines as the Lexus IS but offers a much bolder, more futuristic and even coupé-like design. These ingredients could position it as the best rival to the Tesla Model 3.

The news doesn’t stop there: in addition to the Lexus Electrified Sport and the Lexus Electrified Sedan, we will also see the Lexus Electrified SUV. This body style is much larger than that of the Lexus RZ, so it would sit above it in the range. It will have up to three rows of seats and could become the perfect replacement for the current Lexus RX, which reached the market in 2015.

Lexus Ev8

Think that’s not much? Besides meeting the possible electric successor to the Lexus LFA, the brand belonging to Toyota has also revealed a convertible and a hatchback. For now, not much more detail has been given about these two new models, but the manufacturer may share a lot more information about them in the coming weeks. 2022 has started strongly, and during this year three out of every ten new cars will be fully electric. What does the future of electric motoring hold? Which Lexus model would you like to drive?
