A Urus Coupé? An idea that could be more faithful to the brand's principles

The Lamborghini Urus has become a victim of renders, and this time it’s its turn to become a coupé by giving up two of its four doors.

When Lamborghini announced the arrival of an SUV in its model range, numerous lovers of the brand surely were horrified. However, we must acknowledge that the bull brand managed to imprint its charismatic DNA onto the Urus, a model capable of combining sportiness and comfort with astonishing ease. Even so, many have wanted the Urus idea to go further and adopt a much more radical essence, which is why the guys at Car News Network have produced a render of a Lamborghini Urus Coupé, an idea that is by no means negligible.

It is true that, as standard, the Italian SUV already adopts that new four-door coupé concept, but this design has aimed to be more traditional. To do so, the engineers responsible for this render have applied a fundamental feature to the Urus to turn it into a true coupé: eliminating the rear doors.

The bulk of the Lamborghini Urus has remained intact, but it is true that by dispensing with the rear doors, a more refined aesthetic has been achieved that fits better with the rest of the range. At the same time, this render recovers the GT concept the Italian firm used in its earlier models, in which the front-mounted engine and a 2+2 configuration were responsible for giving the cars of yesteryear their character.

Besides the coupé body style, the designers have also taken the opportunity to apply certain aesthetic modifications to the Urus. Starting at the front, we find a more refined bumper, an effect achieved by replacing the more elaborate lateral area with a thin vertical bar. The side, in addition to showing just two doors, is enhanced by mirror covers in a silver tone and by the same wheels that the Huracán Performante featured.

Mechanically, we can expect that the layout the company chose for the Urus has been respected throughout. With this premise, the Italian SUV coupé would be powered by a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 engine capable of producing 650 CV and 850 Nm of torque, figures that make it one of the fastest in its segment.

Without a doubt, the Lamborghini Urus surprised the world when it showed an appearance faithful to the brand despite being an SUV. However, the idea of making it even more sporty with a coupé configuration would mean the Urus would be even more integrated into the Italian family, which has always stood out for being represented by high-flying sports cars.
