Abarth 695 biposto, the mini of supercars

We have already seen the Abarth 695 biposto at several motoring events held this year. And it seems it has left no one indifferent, since it is an intelligent blend of road car and competition car, in a format that reminds us of a city car. A real statement of intent that arrives in Spain at a price of 40,900 euros.

That sporting impulse is emphasised by the seats inside. Its look is complemented by safety belts with four anchor points. On the control panel we find a multimedia screen that can manage the engine’s performance. The pedals are aluminium, and carbon fibre plays a fairly prominent role in the design.

The desire to be a fast and efficient vehicle is also evident in its weight. It does not reach 1,000 kilos, which helps its 1.4 T-Jet engine deliver 190 CV. That said, the Abarth 695 biposto lacks many of the comforts found in other cars, such as a radio, air conditioning or xenon headlights, all to reduce weight.

Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 5.9 seconds and allows a top speed of 230 km/h. To achieve this it uses a Dog Ring gearbox that makes the most of the engine’s efficiency. The car doesn’t look like a very logical choice as a road car, but it has every appearance of being a car for indulgence, the kind you keep in the garage for the occasional trip to the circuit for a race.

In other words, it won’t be a car for everyone, but for those who want to enjoy an original and powerful vehicle in a small package. In fact, if you add any of the personalisation packs, the price will come close to 60,000 euros, which is more than a Porsche Cayenne, for example. But those who get one will certainly enjoy it a lot.
