Abarth Fastback: the "scorpion" SUV gets a sporty kick with 175 CV

Brazil is about to witness a dose of excitement thanks to the Stellantis group and its new launch, the new Fastback from Fiat Abarth. Following the successful launch of the Pulse, this Coupé SUV version is set to shake up the Brazilian car market with an extra dose of adrenaline and a unique design that highlights its sporty spirit.

Curiously, the 23 October marks the start of the Scorpio zodiac sign, a date with special meaning for Abarth, whose iconic emblem is a scorpion. The passion and legacy of Abarth trace back to its founder, Carlo Abarth, a passionate racing driver born on 15 November under the sign of Scorpio.

The Abarth Fastback is a product of the Stellantis Automotive Hub in Betim, Brazil, which ensures this vehicle proudly carries the “Made in Brazil” badge. This model keeps the characteristics that have made the Coupé SUV a success, with a distinctive sporty touch that only the scorpion can deliver.

175 CV Turbo Engine

It comes standard with the Turbo 270 engine, a twin sport exhaust, a 10.1-inch multimedia screen with connected services, paddle shifters, advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS), an electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and wireless inductive phone charging.

Power is what defines the new Abarth Fastback, as expected from a true Abarth. The Turbo 270 engine we mentioned delivers 175 CV and 270 Nm of torque. This torque translates into acceleration that will take your breath away, as this Fastback reaches 100 km/h in just 8 seconds.

This model was specifically designed on one of the Stellantis group’s best platforms, the MLA platform. That also posed some challenges, as precise adjustments to the engine and transmission calibration were needed to achieve faster, sportier shifts. But there are also benefits: it gains more precise and agile steering, 18-inch wider wheels and high-grip tyres for an exceptional driving experience.

A design that pays tribute

The new Abarth Fastback is not only powerful but also an expression of Italian style. From the first glance, its unique details stand out. Red accents, Abarth’s unmistakable colour, appear on the wheels and front spoiler, adding a touch of aggressiveness to the whole. Combined with black door mirrors, they give it a rather “spicy” and sporty character.

The Abarth emblem, a registered trademark of the brand, appears on the sides and front of the vehicle. And to pay tribute to the Italian heritage shared between Fiat and Abarth, the Fiat Flag emblem stands out on the grille.
