After presenting the Kia Seltos, two concepts arrive to showcase its characteristics

Alongside the production Kia Seltos, the Korean brand’s new SUV arrives in two concept versions to highlight the new model’s capabilities

Recently, during the Los Angeles Auto Show we were able to see the new Kia Seltos. A new SUV for the American market that, in principle, will not arrive in Europe. But that’s not all with this new crossover model from Kia, since alongside the production version two variants have arrived, designed to get the most out of this model, in the form of concept vehicles.

These are two concept cars that showcase its most attractive and efficient looks: the Seltos X-Line Trail Attack Concept and the Seltos X-Line Urban Concept. Both versions have been designed by Kia Design Center America and built by Zero to 60 Designs in Corona, California.

This concept is aimed at city drivers who want to leave the paved road and head out onto dirt tracks. To improve the off-road capabilities of the Kia Seltos, the Korean brand has added a suspension system that raises the car an extra 51 mm above the ground, up to 234 mm.

On the exterior you can see the body colour, which is based on a desert sunset, and to reinforce the adventurous look there is a light bar on the roof with 4 light points and another on the front bumper with four more, which provide extra illumination for those excursions through unlit areas.

There is also a winch hidden in the front bumper, 17×8-inch alloy wheels and a roof rack adapted for any need that may arise during the adventure, making up this more adventurous variant of the Korean SUV.

With characteristics similar to the previous one, this concept aims to make city driving even more appealing. The exterior of the Kia Seltos X-Line Urban Concept is reminiscent of the great skyscrapers of New York, Los Angeles or San Francisco. Its equipment also includes an extra 51 mm of ride height and all-wheel drive.

It also fits 17×8-inch wheels, and the customised bonnet has a bespoke air intake that helps cool the engine, which does not differ from the rest of the models presented so far. The interior is as impressive and attractive as in the production model, with its 10.25-inch screen featuring a navigation system and safety camera.

In addition, a light bar on the roof has been incorporated, although in this case it is limited to four lights. Their purpose is to cut through city fog, and the roof rack has been adapted to the needs of a city dweller.

These two models have been created as a showcase of the capabilities of the Kia Seltos, so although they could be ordered individually, neither of the two models is expected to go on sale for the time being. That said, the Kia Seltos will be available in the first quarter of 2020, and American buyers will be able to start enjoying it.
