Alfa Romeo could be working on a Giulia GTA Special with 630 CV
The Italian brand could be working on a limited-edition model called Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA Special with up to 630 CV.

It could be said that the Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio is already one of the fastest and most exciting cars in the premium compact segment, but we could enjoy a FCA style.
The latest rumour is that the Italian carmaker is working on a version even more focused on performance of its BMW M3, as some FCA sources have reported.

In addition, other sources have tried to contact Alfa Romeo, but they have refused to comment, they have simply stated that “we do not comment on the presence of any specific new model at our events. We are excited to celebrate this year the 110th anniversary of Alfa Romeo and we are all committed to celebrating it in the best possible way”.
According to the report, it is being prepared as a limited-production edition for the brand’s 110th anniversary, which will be celebrated through a series of special events starting in the hometown of Alfa Romeo in Milan, Italy, on June 24.

Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA Special
The car could take on the historic nickname GTA, enjoying a whopping 630 horsepower, almost 125 CV more than the standard Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, which makes do with 505 CV from the 2.9-litre twin-turbo V6 engine derived from Ferrari, which would make it an absolute beast in a straight line and on twisty roads.
Now, the term GTA stands for Gran Tourismo Alleggerita, and ‘alleggerita’ is Italian for ‘lightened’. The report claims that the Giulia GTA will shed 20 kg over the European-spec model when equipped with the manual gearbox (it is unclear which transmission would be offered). It should be interesting to see how Alfa Romeo has achieved this figure, although it is likely through the extensive use of carbon fibre and the removal of some unnecessary elements.
It is rumoured that the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA Special will be offered in limited numbers in Europe, and it is still unknown whether it will be launched in other markets. We cannot wait for Alfa Romeo to unveil the Giulia GTA, as this could be the best car of the year.

2020; a very special year for the brand of the Cuore Sportivo
The brand of the green Quadrifoglio is celebrating this year the 110th Anniversary of Alfa Romeo, and it is that any motoring enthusiast has at some point wanted to get behind the wheel of one of Alfa Romeo’s machines.
If this is true, 2020 is a very significant year for car enthusiasts, as it marks the 110th anniversary of the founding of Alfa Romeo in Milan, less than 200 kilometres from its current home in Turin.

The Alfa Romeo logo was designed by Romano Cattaneo. It has been redesigned several times over the years, but two elements have been maintained: a red cross representing Milan and a grass snake taken from the coat of arms of the Visconti family, who ruled the city until 1447. In addition to carrying the Visconti on the logo, the brand pays tribute to that coat of arms by naming its green colours Visconti green.
