Announced the presentation of the new Ssangyong Rexton at the Seoul International Motor Show

For Ssangyong, the Rexton is one of its most important models, if not the most important, as it is its flagship and one of its best-selling models, for example in Spain since its launch in 2003, with a total of 18,000 units registered. That is why it will undergo significant changes that will raise its quality and final design.

Until now, the renewal project was known as Y400, but we now know it is really the Rexton, and that it will adopt the Nature-Born 3motion design philosophy that the brand has already applied to other models such as the XLV, which we have tested for you. In fact, it is the last to receive it, and it must be said that it needed it, because its muscular silhouette now looks much more modern and, although we do not have official data, it even gives the impression of being larger than the current model.

Inside, the changes are also quite important. In fact, we could say it is completely new, with a much more modern look and smoother lines that combine perfectly with the leather areas. Also worth highlighting is the simpler and more modern steering wheel, as well as the large 9.2-inch screen in the central console, which will feature functions for use with Apple CarPlay or Android Auto, screen mirroring and 360 Around View Monitoring.

But the changes to the new Ssangyong Rexton will not be purely aesthetic. Although official data has yet to be released, Ssangyong assures us that there has been a substantial improvement in its dynamic behaviour, thus also improving and maintaining its already well-known abilities to drive off-road. With this, along with extensive technological equipment and the good quality of the materials used, they aim to make the Rexton a perfectly valid alternative to other large SUVs on the market.

We do not know whether they will succeed, but for now, and judging by the two photographs that accompany this article, the new Ssangyong Rexton looks like a very interesting proposal. Fortunately, we will not have to wait long to get to know it better, as its presentation at the Seoul International Motor Show is scheduled for this 30 March.
