Aston Martin DB11 Shadow Edition 2020: limited to 300 units
New special and limited edition of the Aston Martin DB11. Dubbed the Shadow Edition 2020, the British sports car will be limited to just 300 units.
Four years ago we saw this new DB11 arrive on the global market to replace the DB9. Almost five years on, Aston Martin has wanted to give its model a facelift, but not with a restyling; instead, with a special edition that only a select few, and very wealthy, buyers will be able to obtain.
The changes are cosmetic, not mechanical
The exclusive exterior design elements include, for example, 20-inch gloss black wheels, gloss black bonnet vents, or gloss black accents on the front and rear bumpers. Inside the wheels, you’ll find brake calipers that can be painted in a colour of your choice from the range, in a contrasting shade to the bodywork.

Inside, dark tones, blacks, still dominate. Let’s remember that Aston Martin named this edition “Shadow,” which in English means shadow. The multifunction sports steering wheel is trimmed in black leather and Alcantara. The seat stitching and dashboard details can also be chosen in contrasting shades, just as we mentioned with the brake calipers.
We said the specifications of this limited edition were purely cosmetic because, mechanically, nothing changes in this DB11. You can choose either a convertible body or a Coupé, but under the bonnet, the original’s V8 engine remains. When this sports car replaced the previous model, it also replaced the V12 engine that so many loved. But the British managed to turn the V8 into a virtue and win over everyone who tried it.

Sporting records
This brutal 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 delivers 510 CV at 6,000 rpm and a maximum torque of 675 Nm between 2,000 and 5,000 rpm. The engine is paired with an 8-speed automatic gearbox. With these performance figures, the acceleration numbers of the Aston Martin DB11 Shadow Edition 2020 are astonishing. In 4 seconds the car will be able to reach 100 km/h. The top speed recorded by its coupé variant (the Volante body will be practically the same) is 300 km/h.
And earlier we said this model would be only for the fortunate and the wealthy. Fortunate because there will only be 300 units, and wealthy because the starting price for the North American market will exceed 200,000 euros. In the United States the price in euros will be €203,600, while in the Canadian market it will be around €176,000.
