Aston Martin is already fully prepared to present an even more radical Aston Martin Vantage, ready to revive the GT8 and even GT12 name.

Aston Martin decided not long ago to renew one of its longest-serving models, the Aston Martin Vantage. To do so, the English firm turned to Mercedes-AMG for mechanical components and technology, resulting in a close relative of the Mercedes-AMG GT. However, almost four years have passed since then, and Aston Martin is now ready to continue its traditions and treat us to what will be the first, more radical version of this second generation of the English supercar.

For now, the company has only offered a photo as a teaser, showing a Vantage with certain improvements. It is accompanied by a date, March 22, when we will learn all the details of this mysterious version that promises to carry on the legacy of the iconic GT8 and GT12.

In the image provided by Aston Martin, we notice a more aggressive and pronounced splitter, new side strakes, specific wheels and a very striking rear wing. This package is a clear sign that the English firm is preparing a variant with everything needed to become a worthy successor to its most radical predecessors.

The company has not mentioned any technical specifications or the kind of novelties this Vantage will bring. However, considering the different sporty versions featured in the Mercedes-AMG GT, it is easy to assume that the V8 of the English supercar has undergone its corresponding evolution to deliver considerably more power than the 510 CV it produces as standard.

Indeed, we should not forget that the AMG GT reaches up to 730 CV thanks to the Black Series badge. With this in mind, it is not far-fetched to expect a Aston Martin Vantage GT8 with technical specifications similar to those of the AMG GT R. At the same time, a revival of the Vantage GT12 could be possible thanks to the contribution of its big brother, the DB11.

Either way, on the 22nd the firm from Gaydon will unveil exclusively what is hidden in the shadows. In this way, Aston Martin goes a step further with a more radical variant ready to challenge the new Porsche 911 GT3 and its own relative, the Mercedes-AMG GT R in its different versions.
