Aston Martin will unveil a new DB11 with a V8 engine at the Shanghai Motor Show

Aston Martin will unveil a new version of the DB11 at the 2017 Shanghai Motor Show. This British supercar is equipped with a powertrain that Mercedes AMG typically uses in its cars: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that produces 532 CV.

The new model will be officially presented on 19 April during Aston Martin’s conference at the Shanghai Motor Show. The China debut of the new DB11 V8 makes perfect sense for the British brand, as it is the second most important market for Aston Martin, and they want to make the most of it. The Lagonda brand, which is also owned by Aston Martin, is likewise focused on this same geographic market.

The presentation will take place in China, a nod from the British brand to the Asian market. The new DB11 V8 is expected to cost around $400,000. Everything points to Aston Martin being able to earn a healthy profit from selling a model of this kind. From now on, it will be a little more affordable to emulate our favourite secret agent, and no, it is not Anacleto.

The current DB11 V12 sits at the top of the range with its 600 CV and 700 Nm of torque, priced at $470,000. The debut of the new member of the DB11 family does not mean development of the range ends here. The flagship of Aston Martin will receive a Volante version with a fabric folding roof for the DB11 V12 this spring. This model will fit a 5.2-litre twin-turbo V12 engine. In the future, this convertible version may also offer a V8 powertrain.

Additionally, a new SUV from the British brand may be on its way, which it will probably present during 2019.
