At over 300 km/h in a 1970 Plymouth Barracuda

The Plymouth Barracuda is a legendary name in muscle car history, one we have already revisited a few times on the occasion of the launch of some concept, especially at the SEMA Show. And precisely at this year’s SEMA edition, they showed a concept based on a 1970 Plymouth “Cuda” with a twin-turbo V10 engine. This concept is not only worth seeing on display, but it also runs, and very well.

The concept proved so popular that its creators, Legendary Motor Cars, were invited to the test track at Chrysler in the USA to see what this Barracuda was capable of. And what a surprise they got when the V10 (from the Dodge Viper) took the old warrior to a top speed of about 320 km/h.

By chance(?), a Ferrari Enzo happened to be present at that moment. Its driver couldn’t believe his eyes; the instruments in his Ferrari registered a maximum of 303 km/h during one of the runs he made alongside the Barracuda. But the officially declared top speed was exactly 323 km/h.
