Audi A4 and A4 Avant 2019: aesthetic update for the leader in its category
Audi renews its mid-size saloon. The Audi A4 and A4 Avant receive light styling touch-ups aimed, above all, at giving them a sportier look.
This same summer, Audi puts the new Audi A4 and A4 Avant 2019 on sale. The leader among premium mid-size saloons is fully up to date in terms of engines and connectivity and multimedia technologies. But the fifth generation of the Audi A4 has been on the market since November 2015, and for the brand with the four rings it was time to “refresh” its image.

So, until Audi confirms whether there are any changes to the range’s engine and transmission line-up, we have already been able to see how the updates look on the exterior of the two body versions of the 2019 Audi A4.

The range will include the Advanced, S line and Black line edition versions, the latter exclusive to the Audi A4 Avant. The aesthetic changes affect, at the front, the two top versions, which come as standard with the S line exterior pack, with bumpers and wheels of a new, more aggressive design. Seeking a sportier look, the rear also receives changes, in this case across the whole range. Now, the characteristic Audi Singleframe grille is different depending on the trim. On the S line it stands out for its 3D appearance. At the rear, new exhaust outlets are trapezoidal instead of round, with a narrower diffuser.

From the entry-level Advanced version, the Audi A4 already comes as standard with 17-inch wheels, the MMI Navigation system, rear parking sensors and a mobile phone interface. The S line adds 18-inch wheels, the S line exterior pack, Audi parking system plus, a 3-zone climate control system and LED headlights. For its part, the Audi A4 Avant with Black line edition trim adds to the S line the Audi Sport 19-inch wheels, the grey and black styling pack from Audi exclusive, roof bars and mirror housings in black, and darkened rear glass.

For some markets such as Germany, the 2019 Audi A4 will also offer a special S line competition version with an even sportier look, which for now is not planned for Spain.
