Audi A8 Security - Armored

The Audi A8 Security is the top model in the Audi Security range. It is an armored model, with high-level armor protection and safety systems that allow it to get out of any dangerous situation with great ease.
Moreover, a model like this one is currently generating controversy, since the President of the Xunta de Galicia has bought a similar one, as has the Mayor of Madrid. Controversy aside, the Audi A8 Security is a vehicle with impressive safety features.
The fifth generation of the A8 Security offers its occupants greater protection in the event of assaults and attacks. It has a fully armored cabin built from steel, glass and aramid fiber, and from the outside there is hardly any visible difference compared with a standard A8. The armor provides ballistic protection against hard-core projectiles up to 7.62 mm calibre (withstanding hand grenades, for example).

Another strong point is the underbody, which withstands limpet mines without injuring its occupants. The vehicle has received certification for the highest ballistic classes, B6+ and B7 (European EN standard). It also incorporates its own fire extinguishing system. A series of nozzles located in the engine compartment, the mudguards and the wheel arches spray extinguishing agent, which can put out possible fires. The extinguishing system is activated by temperature sensors or manually via a button on the centre console.
The passenger compartment is equipped with an additional ventilation system, controls for the sirens and communication systems, and, to ensure occupant safety should the doors become jammed and fail to open, an pyrotechnic system that opens the rear doors when activated.

The tyres are fitted with electronic pressure control and a PAX run-flat emergency system. Their design allows the car to continue driving for up to 100 km at a maximum speed of 80 km/h with the tyres completely deflated. The Audi A8L W12 Quattro Security is fitted with a 450 CV engine, a six-litre displacement and 580 Nm of torque, which give the saloon impressive acceleration despite its considerable weight. Add to this Quattro all-wheel drive, which provides excellent grip in any situation.
