Audi e-tron Scooter: the scooter that electric cars from Audi could come with

The electric scooter from Audi is called the e-tron Scooter and, as well as being an option for the brand’s electric cars, you will also be able to buy it from 2020. Its price is around 2,000 euros.

Lately car brands have been jumping on the electric scooter bandwagon. And Audi was not going to be left behind. The manufacturer of the four rings presents us with a novel concept for an electric scooter, the Audi e-tron Scooter, which could be an extra option for its electric cars from late 2020, when it is scheduled to go on sale.

In this way, the owner of a Audi e-tron, for example, could leave their car parked in a parking space, or charging its battery at a charging point. To reach their final destination, they would use the e-tron Scooter, which can be folded and stored in the boot, and plugged in to keep its battery charged.

In any case, it will not only be customers of Audi electric cars who can buy the brand’s electric scooter. The idea is to sell it to people interested in this type of mobility alternative who also look for style, functionality and technology. For this reason, its price will make the e-tron Scooter a very exclusive electric scooter: it is expected to cost around 2,000 euros.

More skateboard than scooter

And, as is fitting for any Audi product, especially one bearing the e-tron name, the proposal is avant-garde and innovative. Because, unlike conventional electric scooters, the e-tron Scooter is more like a skateboard with a motor and handlebar.

Yes, as you can see in the images, it has four wheels. It is ridden like a skateboard, since in this case the handlebar does not steer. Instead, the feet and body are used. The handlebar houses the battery, the electronic module and a screen showing the remaining charge. It also has a rotary control, used to accelerate or brake.

In a first phase, the control allows you to lose speed using the electrical system to recover energy. There is also a foot-operated hydraulic brake, to stop the scooter more safely when larger decelerations are needed. Bear in mind that it reaches a speed of around 20 km/h. And you are surely wondering about its range: in principle, 20 km, which is not bad at all.

One of the main advantages of this scooter is that it can be steered with one hand, which according to Audi improves safety. It not only allows the rider to signal to other traffic, it also makes it easier to look around and keep an eye on the surroundings.

The Audi electric scooter weighs 12 kg, includes LED lights and can be folded completely to be transported in the car. It can also be comfortably carried folded like a shopping trolley or a travel case, for example to use public transport.
