Audi manufactures its 5,000,000th vehicle with Quattro all-wheel drive Audi

Since Audi introduced Quattro technology in 1980 in the legendary Audi Quattro, 5,000,000 units equipped with this all-wheel drive system have rolled off the assembly line. Offering this alternative for more than three decades, Quattro traction stands as a benchmark among premium brands.
In the current range, the German brand offers a total of 140 variants across bodies, engines and transmission systems that can be fitted with all-wheel drive. The unit with which Audi reached this round figure is an Audi A6 allroad equipped with the 3.0 TDI engine and in white bodywork.
Throughout 2012, models with all-wheel drive accounted for 43% of sales of the brand with the four rings. The model leading this list is the Audi Q5, with sales of close to 205,600 units. As for the models where Quattro traction is most popular, these are, together with Germany, the United States, Canada, Russia and the Middle East markets.
