Mercedes CLA 45 AMG, first images
Mercedes-Benz will unveil the CLA 45 AMG at the New York Motor Show, the top of the range CLA, a saloon based on the A-Class. It will feature 360 CV, all-wheel drive and a very sporty design. For now, we only have the first images of the saloon.

Mercedes-Benz will unveil the most powerful engine for the A-Class saloon, the CLA 45 AMG, next week at the New York Motor Show. With only a few days to go before we get to know the smallest AMG-prepared saloon in more depth, we have the chance to see the first official images of the model.
In terms of styling, the Mercedes-Benz CLA 45 AMG stands out for the aggressiveness and sportiness of its design. The front end, identical to the A 45 AMG, features the iconic AMG grille and bumper, accompanied by a small black rear spoiler. The rest of the bodywork features an aerodynamic kit, multi-spoke alloy wheels, red brake calipers and four exhaust outlets.

Looking at the interior, you won’t want to leave it. At first glance, it seems to be the most sporty Mercedes in the cabin, and that’s thanks to bucket-type seats in fabric/leather, a flat-bottomed steering wheel made largely of Alcantara and carbon fibre trim. The predominant colour is black, but for contrast, the stitching is in red.
The most surprising thing is under the bonnet. AMG has developed a supercharged four-cylinder engine for this platform capable of delivering more than 360 CV, outperforming the Audi S3 by 60 CV with an engine of the same size (2.0 litres). In addition, to transmit all that power to the road effectively, a permanent 4Matic all-wheel drive system has been installed.

Although it is still early to talk about performance, the CLA 45 AMG may well dip below five seconds in the 0 to 100 km/h sprint. What is clear is that top speed will be limited to 250 km/h.
