Audi opens pre-orders for the E-Tron electric SUV, but only in Norway
Audi is going to launch the E-Tron SUV in the Norwegian market, a country that pioneered the use of electric vehicles, to see how it will work in the rest of the world in 2018

In recent months we have seen how Audi has presented several models e-tron, based on fully electric traction, although in the form of concept cars. But the moment is coming when these concepts will become production models, and that day is getting closer, since it has been announced that the E-Tron SUV is nearer, as the period to reserve a purchase has opened. At least in one European country, although it is not Germany.
As announced by the Norwegian branch of the brand with the four rings, production of this model will start next year, which is why Audi’s headquarters in Norway has started pre-reservations for one of these 100% electric models. To secure this car, the company is requesting an amount of 20,000 krone, which is equivalent to about 2,160 euros.

Once this pre-reservation has been requested, the cars will begin to be delivered from 2018, although no specific date has been offered. So those who opt for this model will have to wait a few more months to know when they can sit behind the wheel of their car. That said, we know there will also be a Sportback version, which will start to be manufactured a year later, so it will not be delivered until 2019.
What we know about this SUV is that it will be a size between the Q5 and the Q7, and it will have a 95 kWh battery, which equates to a range of around 500 kilometres, a more than adequate distance for a purely electric car. The power the e-tron SUV will offer is the equivalent of 435 CV, although it could rise to 503 CV on occasion. Maximum torque will be set at 800 Nm, all channelled to the four wheels.
Why Norway, you may ask? Because this country is a pioneer in using electric cars, so it has a tradition of use that makes it a good option for testing how it will work in other markets. Either way, it doesn’t matter that it has started in this country first. Soon it will begin to reach the rest of the countries, and we will have the chance to see it around the world.
