Audi RS7 Sportback by ABT: +100 CV for the German super saloon
ABT is a company specialising in tuning the brand’s models, so they have presented their interpretation of the Audi RS7 Sportback with 700 CV of power
The first generation of the Audi A7 hit the market 10 years ago to rival directly the Mercedes-Benz CLS, a Coupé-style saloon that captivated everyone with its spectacular silhouette when it launched in 2004.
Although the segment has lost strength over the years, the Audi A7 Sportback remains one of the brand’s most spectacular and advanced models. In addition, the people from Ingolstadt have made sure that this model has a version signed by Audi Sport, so a few months ago we got to know the new Audi RS7 Sportback.
It features an even more aggressive look than the “regular” models and, above all, a gem under the bonnet: a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 with 600 CV capable of delivering no less than 800 Nm of torque.
Who would need to boost an Audi RS7 Sportback? ABT is the right choice
This power may already seem more than enough for any earthly being, but there is always someone who wants more. Moreover, if that non-conformism is shared by a group of people and they also work at one of the most prestigious tuners in the industry, the madness is guaranteed.
We are talking about ABT, a company specialising in tuning models from the Volkswagen group, so they have worked on everything from the Volkswagen Golf GTI TCR to the tremendous Lamborghini Urus by ABT. We will have to see whether they adapt to the future and dare to modify electric cars such as the upcoming Audi e-tron GT.
Now it is the turn of the Audi RS7 Sportback by ABT, a version that now reaches 700 horses and increases the available torque to 880 Nm. Adding 100 horsepower is no small matter, but the company has managed to develop bespoke software to raise the output without modifying any mechanical component.
As you can imagine, the Audi RS7 Sportback by ABT becomes a genuine super sports car for four people, as it manages to hit 0 to 100 km/h in 3.3 seconds, which leaves it less than half a second behind a thoroughbred such as the Ferrari F8 Spider.
Few cosmetic changes, for now…
Aesthetically, the changes have not been very numerous, since why touch what already works wonderfully. What they do change are the wheels, as the tuner has fitted semi-covered rims with the aim of achieving greater aerodynamic efficiency.
However, ABT has stated that new options will gradually arrive to modify the Audi RS7 Sportback. In this way, over the coming months they will launch body kits, new wheel designs or modified suspensions.
We do not know the price of the Audi RS7 Sportback, but considering that the model taken directly from the dealership costs 146,060 euros, this tuning will bring it dangerously close to 200,000 euros. If you are wondering what you could buy with that money, we have already done it, so do not miss our feature with the best options.
